Art critic statement
Kirsten Høst, a magnificent Danish artist, has taken this pathway for her new series of oil paintings. Her inimatable style characterised by her vivid and brilliant colour palette and her classic chiaroscuro are always present albeit transposed into this new and original series that steps away from her tradtional geometry based compositions to dip in to corporeal interiority.
Her subjects interweave and exceed the limits of establiched recollections, transforming the body into a site of socio-dynamical interactions with her usual underlying poetical lyricism and charm.
